Founded in early 2008 and based in Chatswood, Sydney, NSW- Mandarin Stars was developed as a true labour of love by its Founder- Dawna Leung. With the dedication and commitment of the Mandarin Stars Franchisees and teaching team who are fuelled with a true passion for the teaching and learning of Mandarin Chinese, the Mandarin Stars program is now taught Australia-wide and also, more recently online and world-wide. Motivated to create the Mandarin Stars programs for her own children, Dawna and the Mandarin Stars team have taught thousands of young Australian learners from Toddler & Preschool Playgroups through to Primary and Middle School teens.
Having launched Mandarin Stars Online this year due to the outbreak of Covid-19, the Mandarin Stars classes are now also taught to children in both regional and rural Australia with plans to also share the program with more students across the globe.
Passionate about inspiring in her students a love for learning- Dawna’s hope for all of her students is that they can develop the capacity and confidence to communicate in Mandarin, thus engaging with a wider global community… and also connecting with 1.5 billion other Mandarin speakers worldwide!
“It has been an absolute honour to lead Mandarin Stars over the last 13 years and these awards only motivate and inspire the team and I to keep on doing what we love, which is ultimately to empower our young Australian learners with the capacity and confidence to learn Mandarin, and also understand and enjoy the cultural and social cohesion that it cultivates.” said Dawna Leung, Founder & Director- Mandarin Stars.
The What’s On 4 Kids Awards sponsored by Muffin Break are made up of various categories each representing particular areas of business including Best National School Aged Activity, Most Outstanding Activity Leader and Best Family Day Out.
